Mr. Boon is a retired federal Army civilian with over 46 years in the acquisition community. His final 10 years in federal government was as the Alternate Principal Assistant Responsible for Contracting and Deputy Director of Contracting at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, Alabama, where his duties included managing contract operations, business operations, acquisition policy and compliance, contract cost/pricing, and acquisition reform/excellence. Mr. Boon transitioned to private industry as Vice President-Operations at MTA, Inc., and managed contracting, capture management, corporate communications, program management, business development, facilities management, business development, human resources, internal processes and infrastructure, in Huntsville, AL and remote offices in Picatinny, NJ and Houston, TX.
Mr. Boon is a graduate of the Army Materiel Command (AMC) Senior Managers Executive Development Program, a graduate of the Army Senior Service College Fellowship Program, a graduate of the AMC Logistics and Acquisition Management Program, a graduate of the Defense Systems Management College, Program Management Course, and holds certifications from the Army Acquisition Corps in Contracting and Program Management and is a Certified Professional Contracts Manager, as conferred by the National Contract Management Association. Mr. Boon is a past Secretary of the Army Award recipient for Small Business, a Meritorious Civilian Service Award recipient, a Commander’s Award for Civilian Service recipient, and has earned numerous other awards and recognitions.
